Eyes of the Lord
It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end. (Deuteronomy 11:12)
In the run-up to the Chinese New Year, Hong Kong's economy suffers serious setbacks under the fifth wave of pandemic. TWR HK, like other ministry partners, has been deeply affected. This month's donation income has plummeted, making it difficult to ring in the Year of Tiger.
When it comes to the scripture often read at the end of the year, we will say the eyes of the Lord are continually on us. But in fact the scripture says “on it”, i.e. the land. So, the Lord cares for us through caring for the land we are in. The crucial point is that we have to faithfully obey the commands He gives (Deuteronomy 11:14-15).
Oh Lord! This place Trans World Radio belongs to you. From the beginning of the year to its end, Your eyes are continually on this place. We are willing to obey your commands, to love You and to serve You with all our heart and with all our soul. May You send autumn and spring rains, so that we may have provisions and be satisfied.
As the Chinese New Year is approaching, many shops "want money but not goods". They will offer throat-cutting prices, in order not to stockpile their goods till after the New Year, but instead to grab money in their hands before close of the year.
And our situation is this: We want money as well as men. Currently we are short of both financial and human resources. Yet we firmly believe that God cares for this place. From the beginning of the year to its end, His eyes are on Trans World Radio.
